Define and Describe Cards

Do you have students on your caseload that are working on describing and defining items by 3 or more attributes? You may even have these students paired in groups with students working on sentence structure or even articulation?

If you answered yes, these describe and define cards are PERFECT for you and will be a staple in your therapy room. Just grab off the shelf and go!

What’s Included?

✅This resource is a set of 180 cards to target defining and describing nouns. This is a skill I work on with a lot of my students to increase their vocabulary and word finding skills. Each card has a visual aid to elicit the category or group, function, parts, features (what does it look like, what are its parts), and location. At the bottom of each card, there is a sentence prompt. This sentence prompt reduces the cognitive load of putting all those descriptors into a sentence. By giving this prompt, we can clearly and explicitly teach how we want our students to define and describe these nouns.

✅An added bonus is these cards are organized by phoneme. The purpose of this is to give the option of implementing these cards into your mixed articulation and language groups. There are 10 nouns per phoneme, in the initial, medial, and final position of words. Speech sounds included are: p, b, m, n, t, d, f, v, k, g, sh, ch, j, l, r, s, z, and th. This feature would be great if you had students working on articulation AND language within the same session. I hope this feature comes in handy. I know it does in my speech room!!
