Picture Scenes and Interactive Books

“Teaching functional life skills to students with disabilities can be difficult. Learning these skills are vital in development and help your students become as independent as possible.

This product serves to target a variety of language goals while working on functional, relevant vocabulary for your students. This version of picture scenes and interactive adapted books target “rooms around the house.”

Five rooms included:
-Bathroom
-Dining room
-Laundry room
-Kitchen
-Bedroom

Throughout these rooms, you will find common items that you use and see in these rooms. This product contains 12 pages of no-prep worksheets that target WH questions as well as object functions. There is an interactive adapted book for each room that contains explanations of what one might find in the room. Use these books to teach related vocabulary, object function and associations, sequencing, and ask a variety of WH questions. These books have often served as a ‘social story’ of sorts to some of my kiddos learning life skills.
