Directed Drawings for Speech Therapy using Famous Fables
This resource is a set of 20 no-prep worksheet activities to use with students with a speech/language impairment. Most of my language groups have multiple language goals and areas of need so I made these fun activities to elicit a variety of skills. These worksheets incorporate contextualized language intervention (CLI) which is a treatment approach that targets multiple curriculum-related skills within activities that include rich, meaningful and coherent references to people, objects and actions in the world (e.g. Ukrainetz, 2006; Gillam et al., 2012).
10 Famous Fables Included:
You can either read the fable to your students or pull up a quick 5 minute video on YouTube…or both! My students LOVE watching the videos on YouTube as if feels fun to them to watch a video. These activities keep my students engaged and learning and I know if will for yours as well!
In these contextualized language worksheets, students have the opportunity to target multiple language concepts such as…
⭐️Follow directions while completing a fun directed drawing
⭐️Write a grammatically correct using correct syntax/grammar
⭐️Answer WH questions that will aid in their story retell
⭐️Identify antonyms and synonyms
⭐️Compare and contrast two items from the story
⭐️Use story grammar parts to retell the story
