Emotional Regulation

$5.00

“This product is meant to serve as a resource when teaching social and emotional concepts. If your caseload is anything like mine, you have many students that often do not know what they are feeling or why. This resource is meant to help your students identify their emotions through reading, drawing, and role playing. Another goal is for them to understand and communicate their feelings and express themselves in a way that reduces anxiety and/or meltdowns. In teaching and preventing social breakdowns, our students will hopefully become more successful across all settings and environments.

Pages 4-42: Emotion Flip Books – Target 13 different emotions. Read a short story, reflect by answering WH questions, then draw and describe a time when your student has felt that emotion.
How to assemble flipbooks: Choose a front page (male, female, blank – to draw). Cut out each page and staple at the top.

Pages 47-53: Social Scenario Worksheets – Read the real life scenario, identify the feeling, and then answer the follow up questions. Have your students brainstorm on each possibility of these scenarios. Take perspective by thinking of other peoples feelings. Blank scenarios included for you to role play or review with your students.

Pages 54-56: My Feeling Chart – Male, female, and blank worksheet included. Have your students make a ‘book’ of emotions to refer back to when they are feeling a certain way. Review what they are feeling; what makes them feel that way, why they feel that way, and what they can do about it.
