⭐️Do you evaluate students with autism or students with complex communication needs that might not fair well with standardized assessments?
⭐️Standardized assessments aren’t always the best measure of skills for some students. A dynamic assessment which includes informal measures and subjective information is vital in developing goals and understanding what a child CAN do.
⭐️This informal language assessment is a great tool in measuring receptive, expressive and pragmatic language abilities.
This resource is an informal language assessment tool for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and related disorders. I am always scrambling to find assessment tools that are at the level of my students and sometimes that is hard to do! This resource is for younger, lower level students that do not present well on standardized measures. It also is a great tool to use when probing for beginning language goals.
✅A great feature of this product is that I have used ALL REAL PHOTOS *** NO line drawings or symbols are included.
Included you will find an assessment protocol, a receptive language stimulus book, and an expressive language stimulus book. Here is a breakdown…
✅Assessment Protocol
✅Receptive Language Assessment (Stimulus book included)
✅Expressive Language Assessment (Stimulus book included)
✅Social Language Assessment (Observation form)
Directions on how to score each assessment are included.
*** Some items you may use in this assessment are NOT included. For example, the objects for receptive and expressive language are not included in this digital download. If your students are at the object level, you will need to provide them to administer this assessment.
With this resource you will be able to
⭐️ Gain a better understanding of receptive and expressive language skills
⭐️ Develop accurate and appropriate IEP goals
⭐️ Progress monitor your students language skills
SLPs like you said…
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“I have used this with my evaluations of autistic students to get a better understanding of all of their strengths and opportunities. I put it into a graph form of mastered , emerging, non mastered for parents to see the distribution even when standardized testing shows severe deficits.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”Used this assessment recently for progress monitoring of one of my autistic patients. Great explanations on how to administer assessment and the way it was organized makes it so easy to write up the report. It is so hard to get reliable data of language abilities using formalized measures so this resource has been great for me.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”I LOVE this resource! School SLPs need assessments that are like this one for students who do not do well on our standardized tests! It is a part of my informal battery. It is great to report out at meetings about tasks that our special ed students CAN do. Highly recommended!!“
